The first meeting of the Association took place on 19 October 2024 in Luino, Italy
On October 19th, within the context of the conference on the 350 years of tourism history of Luino, the first assembly of the newly established European Seaplane Association (www.europeanseaplane.org) also took place.
The meeting was attended by seaplane operators, manufacturers, and partners from Italy, France, Finland, Germany, Norway, Estonia, and Montenegro, representing thousands of annual flight hours on water, for both recreational and commercial purposes.
Following the meeting, the seaplanes were the focus of a session during the conference on the Lago Maggiore 2030 project, promoted by Grand Luino Srl, for the rediscovery of water routes. Former Italian Transport Minister Bianchi described the idea of connecting Lake Maggiore with destinations of interest, such as Malpensa, using seaplanes as an “intelligent and very easy to implement idea.”
